a day at PAF

Curious what a day at Primal Arts Fest can look like?

Whether you are coming with friends, joining us solo, or perhaps attending for the first time, we want to share a sense of what a day at PAF can be like.

Many arrive knowing only a few people, or none at all. Over the course of the gathering, faces become familiar. Conversations and connections have space to continue and grow.

While everyone is free to come and go, most attendees remain onsite throughout the gathering. People camp, stay in dormitory-style cabins or private rooms, or bring their RV. The campground takes on its own rhythm, and this temporary village becomes something very special.

A day at PAF usually starts in the dining hall with breakfast. If you have a meal plan or an à la carte ticket, there is a buffet with eggs, breakfast meats, fruit, pastries, coffee, and juice. Some people prefer to cook at their campsite instead.

After breakfast, the first workshop blocks begin. Throughout the day you can join workshops, discussion groups, hands-on learning experiences, and vendor workshops covering a wide range of topics. These might include rope and bondage, mental health, drumming, creative scene crafting, hypnosis, art, ordeal work, play space etiquette, edge play, and more.

Lunch can be in the dining hall or back at camp. The menu changes daily and can accommodate many dietary needs.

Depending on the day, there are between two and three 90-minute class blocks. There is a short break between them.

The dungeon space is open throughout the event, and additional equipment such as suspension frames are available at the pavilion and near the fire circle. Play is allowed in many areas of the campground, with attention to surroundings and respect for others.

In the late afternoon people often gather for the daily socials and mixers. These are relaxed spaces to meet presenters, visit with friends and make new connections, and continue conversations from earlier in the day.

Dinner is served in the early evening. For many people this becomes another moment to reconnect, share a meal, and talk about what they learned or experienced during the day. Conversations from workshops often continue here, and new ones begin.

As it grows dark, people gather near the pavilion to watch fire performances or demonstrations. From there, drumming begins to guide attendees down to the lakeside fire circle, where the evening ritual unfolds.

This year’s theme is "At Nightfall, The Primal Rises".

A four-night descent into the ecstatic, the feral, and the unseen. At night, we become what we are when no one is watching.

Across four nights the fire circle becomes the center of an unfolding passage into instinct, shadow, and expression. Each evening explores a different nocturnal archetype, gradually drawing the gathering deeper into the primal self.

Participation in any activities during Primal Arts Fest is always voluntary and based on your comfort level.

If you have been curious about joining us, we would love to welcome you to PAF26. Tickets are on sale through May 1st, but prices increase on April 16th. If this gathering has been calling to you, now is the time to register and reserve your place.
